Senior Swimming

Tyler Wilden —

Earlier in the term the year seven and eight students hit the pool for some swimming lessons.

It was really cool to see lots of kids getting stuck in and giving it their best effort. Pōhutukawa even had two days where they had every single kid in the pool! Following swimming lessons, we have had some free time in the pool for P.E.

We have also been doing water safety skills in the pool on Wednesday afternoons, one class at a time. We have been practicing how to swim and float in a lifejacket, how to manage risks around water, how to perform CPR, and how to save others in danger.

We have been really impressed with the engagement and effort of our seniors. We look forward to hopefully another round of swimming lessons later in the year.
