Potato Olympics
Over the last few weeks ruma Korora and ruma Kiwi have been learning about the Olympics.
We decided to hold our own Olympics using potatoes! Our Potato Olympics event was a fun-filled day of activities designed to promote teamwork, creativity and fitness among our students. Each child selected a country to represent and created an Olympian potato profile to talk about their athlete. The potatoes then competed in various different events.
We had potato bowling, potato throwing, potato rolling and even a potato dance off! In these events we had lots of learning opportunities arise as we talked about the Olympics history, Geography, Measurement, Numbers and physical activity. Even though our potato Olympians got a little battered and bruised the children had a great day.
