Collab at Casebrook

At Casebrook we have six classes that work collaboratively together. These classes work in pairs, Room Five with Room Six, Room Seven with Room Eight and Room Nine with Room Ten. We decided to interview the teachers in these classrooms to see how they enjoy working collaboratively.

First we interviewed Room 5 and 6’s teachers Mr Straker and Miss Kennedy.

Mr Straker:

Q. What do you like most about working with Room 6?

A. Getting to know new students.

Q. Do you find it better the students working with people they know in Room 6 as well as in Room 5?

A. Yes because it is good to work with other people.

Q. What could be an improvement in the classes or in general?

A. The noise level.

Miss Kennedy:

Q. What do you like most about working with Room 5?

A. Hanging out with the Room 5 students.

Q. Do you find it better the students working with people they know in Room 5 as well as in Room 6?

A. Yes because it is good to work with people outside of your class.

Q. What could be an improvement in the classes or in general?

A. A shared hub between all four classes in the middle block.

Next we interviewed Miss Bull and Miss Mordue (Room 7 and 8), here is what they had to say about collab in their classess.

Miss Bull:

Q.What do you like most about working with Room 8?

A. That our classes get to meet new people, plus working with Miss Mordue.

Q Do you find it better the students working with people they know in Room 8 as well as in Room 7?

A. Yes because it is good to work with people they know.

Q. What could be in a improvement in the class or in general?

A. Nothing.

Miss Mordue:

Q. What do you like most about working with Room 7?

A. Working with Miss Bull and the Room 7 students.

Q. Do you find it better the students working with people they know in Room 7 as well as Room 8?

A. Yes I think the two classes work well together.

Q. What could be an improvement in the classes or in general?

A. More storage.

Lastly we interviewed Mr Foster and Mr Leys who teach in Room 9 and 10.

Mr Foster:

Q. What do you like most about working with Room 10?

A. I really enjoy working with Mr Leys because two heads are better than one and we are friends so its fun!

Q. Do you find it better the students working with people they know in Room 10?

A. Yes, because they get to work with different people and because we have been in these classes for a year and a half.

Q. What could be an improvement in the classes or just in general?

A. The space, I wish we had no wall between our classes so we can access all three spaces more easily.

Mr Leys:

Q. What do you like most about working with Room 9?

A. I like working with Mr Foster because he helps me in some areas.

Q. Do you think the students work better with students they know in Room 9?

A. Some students enjoy working with their friends in Room 9.

Q. What could be an improvement to the classes or just in general?

A. That the students use the different spaces better.
