Tēnā Koutou Katoa - Casebrook welcomes Year 7 Students and Whānau with a Mihi Whakatau

Sharon Keen —

A sincere thank you to our Year 8 students and our Kapa Haka group for ensuring our new students and families were welcomed in such a warm manner.

Thank you to the many family and whānau members who were able to join us yesterday as we officially welcome all the new members to our learning community.  We have had a wonderful start to the year and we appreciate your support with this.  We do understand the many pressures associated with the beginning of the school year and so please contact us if we can help in any way.

Over the next few weeks our Year 8 students will attend camps at Wainui and during that time be involved in a wide range of outdoor challenges.  This is a wonderful experience and we work hard to ensure it is available for all our Year 8s.  Your support with this is essential so as to allow us to keep offering this opportunity.

Year 7 classes will all attend a day at the beach where they will have surfing lessons and then the entire Year 7 group will have a day's trek in the Port Hills.  All of these activities are designed to assist in building relationships and personal confidence.

Please ensure you have our school app.  It is free and one of our main means of communication.  Through the app you can access the weekly and daily notices and so can see what activities are going to be taking place.  This is especially important for our Year 7 students as they learn how the school systems work and so they can be organized ahead of time.

We look forward to seeing many of you on Tuesday where you have the opportunity to meet with your child's teacher.  This will be in the classroom from 5-5:30 pm and then you are invited to the hall for a short presentation on Casebook Challenge and a BYOD, digital citizenship session. This should be completed by 6:00 pm.  Children are welcome to come and play on the grounds.

At any time you have questions or concerns please contact us, working together to ensure we are all on the same page always produces the best results.
