Sharon Keen —

Casebrook Has Enjoyed Hosting Year 6 Cluster School Students.

This week  we have hosted Year 6 students from schools in the Redwood/Papanui cluster.  The students have spent the morning moving around our specialist staff experiencing a range of Technology, Performing Arts and Sporting activities, a taste of what Intermediate life has to offer. This is an important part of our 'Induction Process,' a process that aims to familarise students with Casebrook so that next year the move is stress free and enjoyable.

The next part of this process is our Open Night on July 29, after which senior staff will be at contributing schools providing parents with the opportunity to ask us questions in a small group setting.

Transition between schools has been a major focus in our cluster and we are all working towards making it a natural learning pathway for our students.  Casebrook's work with Cotswold on 'Collaborative Learning,' is another important part of this.

In Week 2 of Term 3 we have the opportunity to host a group of 20 Korean students for three  weeks. This is an amazing opportunity for our school but we need your help by providing home stay accommodation for the students.  Details of this can be found in the newsletter.  The group are from the same district in Korea that are hosting our students during the Term 3 holidays.

There are only four weeks left for your child to achieve a Gold Badge in their Casebrook Challenge.  Please keep the amazing work coming in. We had record numbers achieving last term and hope for more this time around.

We have appreciated your positive feedback on our new newsletter format.  If you have ideas of what you would like included  please let us know as we see it as an important form of communication between home and school.

Thank you for your on going support and do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns.

Regards
