Year 8 Camp At Wainui

Bev Bell —

During the first term all Year 8 classes at Casebrook go to camp at Wainui. While they are at camp they enjoy hanging out, tenting, exploring and participating in activities such as kayaking, coasteering and the Giant Swing, jumping off the wharf and swimming at the beach.

Room 16 was up first and had a great time. We interviewed a few students about their experiences. “My favourite part was hanging out in our free time playing Manhunt,” said William. Yina told us that her favourite part was, “Just hanging out at the beaches.” Sawyer said that his favourite part was, “Eating lollies!”. Mrs Bell quoted, “Room 16 had an awesome camp. The class gelled together really well and it was great to see kids supporting and encouraging each other! We also had an amazing talent show on the last night!”

Room 1 went to camp next. We interviewed some Room 1 kids and this is what they said. Ari said that his favourite activity was the giant swing and his favourite meal was the nacho’s.” We then interviewed Yasmine and she said that her favourite activity was both kayaking and coasteering and her favourite meal was also the nacho’s.”

All in all, it has been a fun camp for everyone. We hope the other Year 8 classes enjoy it as much as we did.
