Students present projects of work at University of Canterbury.
Last Tuesday, twenty students who worked on the Golden Key Mentoring programme, presented their projects at the University of Canterbury.
This was the culmination of a mentoring programme centred around community engagement and capacity building. Mentors and mentees met once a week over a five week period to prepare a presentation on a topic that piqued their interest. The aim was to create groups based on students' interests and mentors' specialisations. During the sixth and final week a presentation was held for peers, teachers and parents. Mentees thoroughly enjoyed the "university experience" - being able to present their projects in the Haere Roa building on the University of Canterbury campus.
