Our annual Culture and Kai evening was a great success opening with performances from Kapa Haka and Pasifika. This was followed with a shared dinner and the opportunity to connect with whānau, staff and students. We also took the opportunity to seek feedback on what we are doing well for our young people, particularly Māori and Pasifika and what our next steps could be to ensure their continuing success at school. The results of this were as follows:

A joint venture by the Christchurch branch of the NZ China Friendship Society and Harcourts Gold Spitfire. It follows on from the highly successful initial competition last year.

All Tōtaranui Kāhui Ako schools have planned a combined Staff Only Day on Monday, 21st August 2023. We would like to remind Parents/Whanau that school will be closed on this day.

On Wednesday 26th of July, Casebrook School had its famous Culture and Kai event, where the people of the Casebrook community and families joined together to eat yummy food while watching our amazing Kapa Haka and Pasifika groups.

At our assembly last week, we did a Spin 2 Win draw for all students who had attendance higher than 90% for the first two weeks of the term.

Last week, we had a large number of students absent for medical reasons.

An annual event is coming your way. The Casebook school production is here. Every year, the school has a production that includes every child in the school, as they all get to perform a dance in the show.

Casebrook has had a great time at Hagley these past nine weeks. We would like to say a great job to everyone who competed in Winter Hagley Sports in 2023.

In the last few weeks, St John’s paramedic, Nicki, has been coming to teach the students of Casebrook important medical knowledge such as CPR. These lessons have been going on in the staffroom and TPW.
