Year 8 camps are finished and most of the Year 7 activity days completed and so we will move into a more settled and regular timetable.

The teachers union (NZEI) has called a paid union meeting on Wednesday 21st March.

New Zealand Red Cross and Parenting Place have joined forces to bring you Tī Kōuka - the ultimate adventure weekend for parents and their pre-teens.

This Sunday from 12.30- 2.30pm. Lots of fun for all of the family.

On the 28th of February Casebrook held their first inter-house competition for 2018. It was the annual tug of war competition, the four houses went head to head to win 1st place and earn house points.

Casebrook has a canteen that is managed by Mrs MacLennan (Mrs Mac) and Co-managed by Mrs Davanney.

On the 7th of February Room 13 went to Wainui for camp. To get there it was a very long drive and a walk that felt like it went on forever.

On Sunday the 25th of February many Casebrook Intermediate students competed in the Christchurch kids Weetbix TRYathlon which was held at Jellie Park in Burnside.

At Casebrook we have Tuesday sport for people that don’t take part in Hagley sport or girls self defence. We have a variety of sports that we rotate around each week. Every group gets a chance to play a different sport.

On Friday the 23rd of February Rooms 7 and 8 went on a surfing trip to Sumner Beach. They were taught by instructors from Learn to Surf. We interviewed some students from Room 7 and 8 about their experience and their answers are below.

From the 7th to 11th of February Room 13 went to Wainui camp. Each night we did an activity around the camping ground.

On Tuesday 7th of February Room 13 went on the 2018 Wainui Year 8 camp. Here is some information about the activities we took part in.

At Casebrook we have many groups and Kapa Haka is one of them. The Kapa Haka group go on stage on many occasions and perform all kinds of traditional items such as: Haka, Poi, Ti Ti Rakau, Moe Rakau and more.

On Friday 9th March we will be having an Easter themed mufti day and ask each student to bring an Easter egg or similar item that can be used to create our gift baskets. Students are welcome to dress up in an Easter theme. Spot prizes for best dressed.

At Casebrook we take pride in the variety of musical instruments our students are able to learn. We have a number of well qualified, excellent teachers. The students who take part in this programme tell us how much they enjoy it. These can be learned in small group sessions or private individual lessons.
