Congratulations to Meg for winning the Sir Peter Blake award for her involvement and leadership in a wide range of activities. Meg is a fine example of a Casebrook REP and we are all very proud of her achievements.

Our three football teams are competing hard in the Intermediate Sport Competition at Hagley Park each Tuesday.

Another student council organised lunchtime activity took place yesterday at lunchtime. The very first Casebrook Mud Run!

We would like to invite you and your child to meet with your child’s teacher for the Term 3, 3 Way Conference. We believe that there are advantages in providing this opportunity to meet and discuss your child’s abilities, strengths and needs. This is an opportunity for you to discuss with the teacher your child’s learning and growth as part of the Casebrook Community.

Our Casebrook student council organised their first big lunchtime event last Friday - a half-court basketball shot competition.

The Community Dental Service will operate an emergency service over the school holidays. This service is to provide relief of pain only and will not undertake ‘routine’ treatment.

We welcome Marcel Wilkinson, from Te Ora Hou, who has started a programme called 'Box-Fit' at Casebrook this term.

Congratulations to our students who achieved their badges for earning 20 REP cards in one of our three expectations of RESPECT, EXCELLENCE and PERSEVERANCE. 

A huge thank you to our Casebrook families for supporting the chocolate fundraiser. The PTA have been selling chocolates as its main fundraiser for over 10 years and without the support we receive from parents it wouldn't be possible to raise much needed funds.

Printmaking, Painting, Sculptures and More....

Students have been working towards their badge goals over the past few weeks. Challenges range from making baked goods, learning new languages, to completing a maths badge. Students are working hard in Term 2, and showing REP values throughout each challenge. Scroll through some the pictures to see the variety and breadth of Casebrook students.

Group Bass Guitar lessons are available at Casebrook for Term 3 and Term 4. 

Group lessons are available for Term 3 and Term 4. 

Group keyboard lessons are going to be offered at Casebrook for the 2nd half of the year. These lessons will provide an entry level start to learning basic chords and accompaniment for pop and rock songs. You will not have to read music and there will not be a classical song in sight. If you are interested please contact Mrs Gillard in the office for an enrolment form.  Group lessons work on a formula of 6 students per hour with the students grouped according to their ability. Group lessons half year fee ~ $100. Group lessons are a good way of finding out if you enjoy learning the instrument you choose. It has been shown that learning an instrument privately contributes to faster progress in learning how to play an instrument.  The cost of a half year's tuition in a group lesson is non-refundable.

Clarinet lessons are available for Terms 3 and  4.

Its not too late to learn the flute.

Last week fifty-one students travelled to Queenstown to perform in four locations during Queenstown Winter Festival.

A light experience not to be missed, as the Botanic Gardens will come to life in a whole new light, under the cover of darkness!

Our Chess Team ventured out to Medbury for the day to compete in the Intermediate grade competition this month!

Did you know the delicious pizzas sold at the Casebrook canteen have a honey and olive oil bread base with a swirl of tomato sauce, high in lycopene and are topped with low fat mozzarella cheese. Pizzas are made fresh each day and can be made to suit each student including gluten free and vegetarian. Special pizza orders can be placed before school or at morning tea and we have a variety of toppings available including Chicken, Ham, Sausage, Potato Wedges, Onion, Pepper, Corn, Tomato, Mushroom and Pineapple.

Both teams went out with a bang with each winning games.
