At the start of this term, a total of 70 Casebrook kids in two trips set off on an adventure to Dunedin. The students got to participate in many different activities.

This week we farewell two student teachers who have been with us for five weeks.

On the 5th of August 2020, '70 Cents' dance group were placed 2nd in the Canterbury hip hop competition at Hornby High School.

Jay Xuan Tan of Room 16 competed in the South Island Badminton U13, U15 and U17 Teams and Individuals Tournament during the first week of the school holidays.

On the 31st of October, Casebrook’s A and B water polo teams went to Dunedin and represented Casebrook in the South Island Water Polo Tournament.

On Sunday the 1st of November, the famous Casebrook Kapa Haka group competed in Tūhono, a Kapa Haka competition held in the Christchurch Town Hall.

Ashton Fairly won the Sir Peter Blake award in Term 4 on the 15th of October 2020. He got the award for his leadership skills, his empathy and the caring ability for others, and his responsibility.

Term 4 brings a time of sporting opportunities and fun. Casebrook Intermediate students have been competing in various Hagley sports. Here are some updates on how our teams are going.

At Casebrook Intermediate on the 27th of October, cultures came together and performed in front of many family and community members.

On Monday 9th November, the Eco-warriors walked to Papanui Bush. Once they arrived, they weeded the grass around the new native trees, to allow them better growth.

The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot is a hilarious, well-known story. Once you’ve read the book, you can watch the movie (which is always a bonus!).

On Friday 30th October 2020, schools from all around Christchurch went to “The Piano” in town to listen to New Zealand authors; Jonathan King, Miriam Lancewood, Toby Morris, Selina Tusitala Marsh, Weng Wai Chan and Tania Roxborogh.

Recently the Casebrook canteen moved to a temporary location behind Rooms 7 and 8.

The canteen has now moved to a temporary spot behind Rooms 6 and 7 while the new canteen is being built.

On Friday 4th December we will be having a Christmas themed mufti day: wear your santa hats and Christmas costumes - we will have mystery spot prizes throughout the day.

Our Christmas raffle fundraiser gets under way on Monday with students bringing home a sheet of ten $2.00 raffle tickets to sell. We would love if you could please support us in this final fundraiser for the year.
