Work samples from Visual Art, Fabrics and Hard Materials were on display in the school hall last week.  During the evenings there were science experiments, food sampling and a range of performances for our many enrichment groups.   It showed what can be achieved and I congratulate the students for the quality of their work thank the staff for putting in the extra effort.  Well done.

On Monday the 19th of December, a container full of Christmas presents will be taken through to Kaikoura for the children that have been affected by the recent earthquakes.

As part of our Heroes Inquiry unit, Room 1 headed out to Hohepa in Halswell to volunteer some of our time with the residents.

38 Casebrook students headed down to Ashburton to compete in the Canterbury Schools Athletics competition.

Thanks to all in our community for the donation of over 300 cans last week in support of the Watties Collect a Can fundraiser for the Salvation Army food bank.

10 students were offered the opportunity to attend the 'Be Inspired' conference for Year 7 students last week.

Congratulations to our students who achieved their badges for earning the required number of REP cards in one of our three expectations of RESPECT, EXCELLENCE and PERSEVERANCE. 

Last Thursday, students from Room 8, looked after five elders and one volunteer worker in our library.

Our last  PTA meeting for the year will be on Tuesday 6th December at 7.00pm in the staffroom all members of our community welcome to come along.

Juicies are an iconic product in schools and are loved by children all over New Zealand. The great thing is parents love them too as they are a healthier choice contributing to the recommended two or more servings of fruit a day and don’t contain any preservatives, colours or artificial flavours.  Great on these hot days and amazing value at only $1.00 each.

There will be a Year 8 mufti day on Thursday 15th December for those families that would like to donate there child's uniform.  If you would like to go into the draw to win a $50 Mainland uniforms voucher please include you name and phone number inside the plastic bag.

Once again we had two fabulous evenings where family and friends could celebrate creativity and learning of their children.

All sold ticket stubs and money need to be returned to school by Friday 2nd December. The raffle will be drawn on Tuesday December 6th with winners contacted by phone.    A $50 Northlands Mall voucher will be presented to the top seller in both Year 7 and 8 with Hoyts movie passes for our other exceptional sellers. If you can help by selling more raffle books these can be collected from the office.  We really appreciate your support as this would not be a success without your help.

On TUESDAY, 13th December Casebrook Intermediate is taking the whole school to Hanmer Springs Thermal Resort. We have organized this ‘Big Day Out’ as a way of saying thank you to our students for their positive attitude and commitment towards our school community this year.
