Last week we hosted potential students with their whānau at our Open Days. This was an opportunity for people to see our school in action and have any questions answered. A sincere thank you to our student leaders and staff for making our visitors so welcomed and showcasing what we achieve here at Casebrook. We have had many positive emails from our visitors, expressing their enthusiasm and appreciation. If you know of a young person who wishes to attend Casebrook in 2022, please have them visit our website or phone the school office for enrolment information.

Sexuality Education is part of The New Zealand Curriculum, and it is a requirement that it is taught as part of the PE and Health learning area from Years 1-10.

This winter has not been kind to our Casebrook Football schedule! But thankfully, an afternoon at Hagley Park playing school football happened on Tuesday.

On Friday the 14th of August a group of Casebrook Intermediate students competed in a Chess Tournament at the Christchurch City Town Hall. The competition was tough but they did Casebrook proud.

On the 25 - 27th of July, three Casebrook Intermediate children made a grand total of $1010!

On August 4th at Hornby High School two of the hip hop groups represented Casebrook at a dance tournament. Both teams did extremely well with Velocity placing 1st and CI Crew 2nd! They performed the dances to perfection and made Casebrook proud by showing REP and doing their absolute best.

Spencer Dodd gained an award for ‘Assistant Patrol Leader’. How you get this award is by showing good leadership in the community.

On the 5th of August, Casebrook Intermediate School took a group of 80 students to Mt Hutt for the first of three annual ski trips!

In preparation for school speeches students have been focusing on what makes for a good presentation.

Canteen specials in Term Three: Crispy chicken sushi stick, Butter chicken & rice and Texas rib rolls along with ever popular Sushi and Potato wedges still on the menu. We also have hot chocolates for those cold winter days only $1.50 each.

We started ICAS exams on Tuesday with Digital Technologies. Please note the dates for the remaining exams if your child has been entered.

The school will be closed on Friday 27 August 2021 to allow staff to take part in Professional Development.
