Casebrook hosted the annual Christchurch Intermediate Speech Competition this week, where Lileeh Davis was placed first and Matthew Lange third.  A wonderful achievement for both students out of a strong field of contenders.

Congratulations to our students who achieved their badges for earning the required number of REP cards in one of our three expectations of RESPECT, EXCELLENCE and PERSEVERANCE.

Our Casebrook Chorale, led by Lydia Muschamp were special guests at the opening of the Innes/Papanui Community Board meeting for this new political term.  

We welcome all in our community to join us in celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Casebrook Intermediate on Friday 4th November.

After a very successful global tour to Japan last term we are very excited to offer to all students, parents and caregivers the opportunity to join next years overseas trip to China and Korea in April 2017.

We have a International Korean group (9 girls and 4 boys) looking at arriving on 26 November - 10 December (dates TBC).

We currently have a Korean boy who will be Year 8 next year needing a homestay for one year.

Pop into the school hall on Wednesday 16th or Thursday 17th Nov and be WOWED by the creativity of our students. Mark these dates on your calendar.

On Friday 30th September 2016 Holly Wratt-Groeneweg from Room 1 and Kate Taylor from Room 7 went to the Gold Coast on an Australian touch rugby development tour.

The Junior Rotary Speech Competition was held at Breen's Intermediate on Wednesday, 12th October.

Congratulations to Ashton Lay who was awarded the 'Best and Fair Player' award at the South Island football tournament.

In November students will bring home a book of ten raffle tickets. Tickets are $2.00 each or $20.00 for a book and we have twenty awesome prizes up for grabs. Please support this fundraiser by selling tickets to family and friends.  If you do not wish to sell tickets please return the tickets as quickly as possible so that they can be sold by other families. Please keep track of your tickets as they have been allocated by number to each student and are marked off on their return to school. All sold ticket stubs and money needs to be returned to school by Friday 2nd December. The raffle will be drawn on Tuesday December 6th with winners contacted by phone and results published on the school website. A $50 Northlands Mall voucher will be presented to the top seller in both Year 7 and 8  with Hoyts movie passes for our other exceptional sellers.

These items can be dropped into the school office. We have students starting at Casebrook in need of uniforms, please consider donating your child's uniform. This is an easy way to give back to your school and is really appreciated by the families that benefit.   

This term in the canteen our bottles of water have been reduced to $1. We also have some yummy daily specials available including Sushi from Sushi Ya delivered every Wednesday.

If you are interested in joining the PTA please come along to the next meeting and get to know our friendly team. Our main activities are to raise funds for school related items and organise social events.  We would love to see more parents and caregivers coming along to share their ideas.
