On Friday Mrs Shona Kelleher accompanied three students who attended the National Media and Digital Excellence Awards in Tauranga.

Below are the calendar dates for 2018.

Caring for someone on a voluntary basis can be hard work. To thank you for your dedication and to support you in your role, Red Cross is offering a $10 First Aid course for carers in the greater Christchurch area. The course includes a free First Aid kit.

As you have probably seen around the school there has been fencing around the whole middle block, this has been because they are renovating the middle block.

Last week we had our class relays.

Some of the Room 11 students did a writing piece about cheese rolls so they decided to make and sell some for $1:00 at lunchtime on Tuesday 7th of November. 

What a successful day it was 31st of October 2017. It was our one time of the year to show our sport skills and what we are capable of.

On the 15th and 16th of November our caretaker (Bevan) is making our bike compound smaller for compost boxes.

On the 14th of November Tracy Scott and Dayle Hunt from 'Voice to Voice' came to Casebrook to enlighten us about life and to make us feel better about our mistakes and failures.

This week we did a bake sale for our Casebrook Challenge Super Challenge.

On the 12th of November 2017 two Casebrook robotics teams attended a contest for a day known as Robofest.

The Room 15 boys are chess superstars. 

On the 10th of November, Neo, Liam and Jorja from Room 1 went to Tauranga for the MADE (Media and Digital Excellence) Awards. 

Robofest is a lego robotics competition featuring teamwork, excitement, frustration and success! 

If your child has outgrown their uniform or if they are moving on to High School and it is no longer needed we welcome donations of second hand uniforms. We have a number of students in need of uniforms especially boys uniforms. If you have anything you would like to donate please drop these into the school office.  

Work has started on the refurbishment of the LRC and Rooms 5 - 8. 

Thank you to the generosity of CERT, Mr Cook and the students have a brand new band saw in the Hard Materials room which has replaced the band saw that was there since the school opened in 1966. 

Thank you to Youthtown, who not only do excellent work with the students by empowering young New Zealanders to be the best they can through sport,  but they have also given us two grants. The first to purchase the new rugby posts which are an excellent asset to the school and the community. The second grant was to fund the van and trailer hire for the students who went to the Anchor AIMS Games in Tauranga. This was an amazing experience for the students and more affordable due to the generosity of Youthtown. Thank you.

Please bring along a Christmas themed item to be used in our PTA Christmas raffle. Cards, chocolate, tinsel, decorations, lollies. Any new unopened items gratefully accepted. 

With the weather getting warmer this term we have been making some delicious salads and wraps.  Sushi is still available on Wednesdays, orders placed at morning tea time. Students have a range of choices at very affordable prices.

Students have now brought home a book of ten raffle tickets. Tickets are $2 each or $20 for a book and we have twenty awesome prizes up for grabs. If you do not wish to sell all the tickets please return them as quickly as possible so that they can be sold by other families. Please keep track of your tickets as they have been allocated by number to each student and are marked off on their return to school. 

On Friday 15th December Casebrook Intermediate is taking the whole school to Hanmer Springs Thermal Resort. We have organized this ‘Big Day Out’ as a way of saying thank you to our students for their positive attitude and commitment towards our school community this year.

Please put the following date and times in your diary. This is a special day to celebrate the success of your child at Casebrook Intermediate.
