Hybrid Learning

Admin Cashmere —

The room 3 and 4 children have been working hard to develop their ICT skills this year. Some of the skills they have been learning are logging into a range of devices, using a spreadsheet to track their learning and accessing their learning online. They have taken pride in their newly learnt skills and are able to apply these independently across a range of contexts throughout the day.

Alongside this mahi, they have been learning how to be digital citizens online through our school online safety programme, Pause and Think Online, developed by Common Sense Media.

The Pause and Think Online programme covers the following topics

  • Media balance and wellbeing

  • Privacy and security

  • Digital footprint and identity

  • Relationships and communication

  • Cyberbullying, digital drama, and hate speech

  • News and media literacy

Each lesson has a positive approach, equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to be successful, digital citizens. The children love the catchy songs, characters and mini lessons that provide them with practical ways to stay safe online.

You can find out more about the programme here: www.commonsensemedia.org/educators There are resources that you can use at home too.
