Kia ora te whānau

It has been an absolute joy to meet your children and many of you this week, thank you for coming up to say hi! I’m very grateful we managed to have the Community Picnic yesterday despite a few raindrops and grey skies, what a lovely way to connect as a community together. Thank you to Jake and the Apollo Music team for their performance to kick off the evening! I am looking forward to a year where we can have more opportunities to connect in person and celebrate your children and their learning.

On Wednesday 8 February and Thursday 16 February, we will have short meeting times available for you to meet with your child/ren’s teacher. These meetings are an opportunity for teachers to learn from you about your child- what helps them thrive, what are their goals and your aspirations for their year.

You will receive an email in the next few days with more information about booking your meeting time. We are looking forward to meeting with you!

Whilst this meeting is a more structured opportunity to meet, teachers also want to hear from you anytime throughout the year if there is something we can do to support your child in their learning and life at school. If you have something urgent, please either email the teacher directly, or-because teachers won’t be seeing their emails during the teaching day- please ring the office to make a time.

We hope your children have had a settled and positive start to the school year. I know for some of our children, returning to the routines and expectations of school life can be a big transition, while for others they have been eager to return! I’m enjoying visiting classes and seeing our learners in action- getting familiar with their new classmates, teachers and routines.

Have a wonderful week, and thank you again for making me feel so welcome and so lucky to be part of this wonderful school community

Ngā mihi
