Message from the Principal

Admin Cashmere —

It was lovely to visit Camp Kaitoke last week and see our Year 5 and 6s exploring and thriving in a different environment. I was so impressed with their cheerfulness and resilience in somewhat inclement weather! A huge thank you to our senior school staff- AnneMaree, Blair, Sandy and Sarah for all of their hard work and energy before and during camp, and the parent volunteers who gave up their time to support and encourage our tamariki. School camps require a huge amount of extra planning, organisation and goodwill and our CAS students are privileged to have this experience.

Thank you for your support on Tuesday so that we could send our teachers to their Paid Union Meeting.

We’ve kicked off Movin’ March this week!  Check out further information in the newsletter under the Movin'March article or check out https://schooltravel.gw.govt.nz/walk-or-wheel-programmes/movinmarch/info-and-ideas-for-whanau/

This week we also hosted our first New Entrant Parent Information Session. It was great to meet some of our new families who will be joining us over the next few months, and to have Linda and Jenny N share the thinking and research that goes into planning our junior school experiences to support our youngest learners to thrive here at CAS.

For Children’s Day on Sunday this year my boy gets to choose the breakfast menu (I’m bracing myself for a very creative combination!). I hope that whatever you and your whānau get up to this weekend, you have some time together doing something you enjoy!
Ngā mihi nui
