Welcome to the new Board, update on Principal Appointment, Quiz and Healthy Relationship Guidelines

New Board:

We have welcomed new board members Krish Amirthalingam and Emma Bonner who will be joining David Miller, Simon Hoar, Abigail Johnston, Richard Barrett, Kate Christie and Tricia Will on the board for the next term along with Board Secretary Jenny Fenwick. David Miller is the Board Chair and Richard Barrett is the deputy.  

Update on Principal Appointment:

Our Principal Appointments committee made up of four board members, Phil Rodley and an external principal has been busy working on recruiting a new tumuaki. The vacancy closes on Friday 30 September with the aim of holding interviews in October.

Quiz:

The annual quiz was back on the calendar last Friday. It was wonderful to be able to spend some time together as a community and great fun getting together. Big thanks to the Home and School Committee for a well-run and enjoyable evening. Fundraising efforts like the quiz have meant that H+S have been able to donate $10,000 to buy new Chromebook and iPads for our kura – thank you to our community for engaging with events like these, and thanks to the Home & School Committee for the generous donation.

Healthy Relationship Guidelines

Our school will be implementing the new guidelines for Relationships and Sexuality education in term 1 2023. We will be engaging staff and our community shortly to gather feedback that will inform the delivery of the health curriculum moving forward. There is more information for whānau in the link below.
