Kia ora te whānau!

It is a hive of activity around here! We have so many children walking, scootering and dancing their way to school each day for Movin’ March. We did our first prize draw this week, with plenty of completed passport cards in the box! On Tuesday Team 3 had their Wheels Day, and other Teams are having their Wheels Day over the next few weeks.

While your child is being more active on their way to and from school, please take the opportunity to remind them about road and driveway safety. Please help them to cross the roads at sensible places (definitely the pedestrian crossing if using the front entrance!), walking their scooter. A good tip we learned from Constable Dann last year was to spend a few trips to school ‘shadowing’ your child- letting them make the decisions, but being ready to step in and support if needed.

Meanwhile our Colour Run Fun Day organisation is amping up- thank you to Zoe and the team of amazing people who are planning a colourful, vibrant fundraising event for our school. It’s going to be great fun! Fundraising from this event will go towards improving our school environment- working towards our goal of a “Vibrant School".

With David Miller stepping down from the Cashmere Avenue School Board now that his youngest has graduated from the school, a casual vacancy has occurred on the school board for an elected parent representative.

The board has decided to fill the vacancy by selection. A by-election will only be held if 10% or more of eligible voters request it within 28 days from 28 February 2024.

Request for a by-election should be sent to:
