Message from the Principal

Admin Cashmere —

Kia ora Te Whānau,

As you will have seen, we have our Super Friday this Friday with our Home and School Sausage Sizzle and Discos. It is exciting to be able to offer a disco and the school has worked in partnership with the Home and School to ensure we are taking measures to avoid the spread of COVID. We ask that if your child or any member of your whānau is showing any symptoms that they do not attend, as we have had a slight increase in cases this week.

We have put in place safety measures for our disco. Firstly, we have limited the number of adults at this event to be official parent helpers and school staff only. All parent helpers and staff will wear masks. The hall will be well ventilated using our top windows. We will release children class by class to their parents who will be waiting outside.

As you are aware, under the Orange Settings the school, following the MoE advice, recommends that children from Y4 and above wear masks when indoors to slow the spread of COVID. This, of course, is your decision as a parent and it is the same at the discos. I know that you will discuss with your child the measures your family is comfortable with to ensure they are kaitiaki of not only themselves but also those around them, as we never know who within our community are vulnerable.

Ngā mihi nui

Jo Staite
