Kia ora te whānau

What an amazing response last Friday for our Black and White dress up fundraising day for communities affected by Cyclone Gabrielle. Congratulations to our Student Council for organising this opportunity to support these communities in a practical way.

It’s fantastic to see so many children biking, walking and scooting to school and back home again and seeing lots of finished Movin’March passport cards going into the Prize Draw box!

We are also getting very excited for our Cashmere Ave Fun Day- it’s a hive of activity as our amazing coordinators and stall organisers get everything ready for Sunday 26 March - we look forward to seeing you and your friends and family there!

On Friday this week Jo Staite and I are working alongside other school leaders and the MOE, to explore the refreshed NZ curriculum, and how to roll this out within our schools. We’ve also been invited to test a new digital platform they have developed to support schools with curriculum resources and teaching materials. We will be sorry to miss our school assembly - led by our Middles team this week - but we’re looking forward to exploring the work the Ministry has been developing with a CAS lens: how might it equip our learners to explore and thrive together!

Health Curriculum Consultation

In the next few days, as part of our health consultation and review process, we will be sharing a document with our Cashmere Avenue School community.  It outlines how we will deliver the Health and Physical Education Curriculum. Within this document is our draft annual plan for the delivery of the Ministry of Education guidelines, ‘Relationships and Sexuality Education’. This plan was reviewed in response to the feedback we gained in November last year during a consultation evening, however, we would like to hear further from you on our plan for how we deliver the ‘Relationships and Sexuality Education’ guidelines. We are holding a second information consultation evening on Thursday 23 March at 6 pm in Room 12 and, we will invite you to share your feedback through an anonymous Google Survey. Keep an eye out for the survey email.  We look forward to meeting with you, and/or hearing from you through the survey.
