Message from the Principal

Admin Cashmere —

The symbol for our Growth Mindset value seems pertinent for this article as we have been learning about staff changes recently.  You will have received an email informing you that Phil Rodley, after 23 years at CAS, is off to explore a new place of teaching at Muritai School.  It is hard to imagine this place without Phil but he urges us to carry on with our hard work and to consider new opportunities, just as he is.  I am looking forward to celebrating his time here, to acknowledge what he has enabled and those he has supported.

Thank you to our Home and School Association and the extra parent helpers who made possible our School Disco on November 18th.  I have heard that children danced the night away into a very deep sleep on Friday!

I have recently met with Adelle Jensen - our new Principal.  In fact she was spotted in my office by tamariki passing by and they instantly and gleefully recognised her!  I feel very humbled that our school's growth will carry on with Adelle's embodiment of growth mindset and her experience.  She has learned that our modernisation project for Rooms 7, 8 & 9 is carrying on at pace, ready for a May opening.  I may need to come back and see the new space that will cater for the different ways our children learn.

There is much on at school and in your own busy lives as we gear up towards the summer break.  I hope that your holiday plans are coming together.

I look forward to seeing you all at our end of year events.

Ngā mihi nui

Kate Christie
