Admin Cashmere —

Kia ora e te Whānau

It's around this time that you might hear reminders such as, 'how many days till Christmas' and exclamations such as, 'there's only four weeks of school left!'  All of this can send us into, what I like to call, a 'poised panic'.  But maybe we could see these statements as reminders to begin our reflections on the year that has been.  When I observe our Year 6 leavers, I am reminded of the explorations and achievements all of our tamariki can articulate from their year of learning.  I feel so very proud of them and our educators.

At our Staff Leavers' Assembly, we will celebrating Sue Moody's 40 years in education.  She has made the decision to retire.  Sue will tell you how she loves being apart of our school - the curiosity of our learners, the whakawhanaungatanga of our staff and community - it is hard to step away from; the decision to retire has not come easily.  We thank her for her 16 years spent at Cashmere Avenue and wish her all the best for a wonderful retirement.  She and her husband are keen boaters so I have visions of her out on the sparkling seas!

Thank you to our parents who attended the Relationships and Sexuality Education evening.  From our discussions with those who attended, we see the importance to offer this information evening again in Term 1, as well as the digital survey.  I urge you to prioritise attending the evening as the content of the Relationships and Sexuality Education Guidelines requires an update to our current practice, and we are eager to understand our community's considerations.

We are also grateful for your support with the teachers' Paid Union Meeting on Thursday this week.

Ngā mihi nui
