Pōwhiri, Athletics Day, Poroporoaki, NZEI PUM, Etap App, Tummy bugs and nits

Pōwhiri:

On Monday 7 November, we are holding our final pōwhiri for the year to welcome all our new tamariki.  If you have a child new to Cashmere Avenue you will have received an invitation to attend.  We look forward to welcoming all our Term 4 students.

Athletics Day:

Athletics day for our middle and senior students will take place on Tuesday 8 November, with the postponement day being Wednesday 9 November.  Please make sure your child has a drink bottle full of water, sunhat and a top which covers their shoulders.  They may also need some extra food in their lunchbox.

NZEI PUM Meetings:

Our teachers will be attending a Union Meeting on the afternoon of Thursday 17 November. We are asking parents to collect their child/ren from their classrooms at 1.10pm.  Any children unable to be collected will be looked after in the hall.  This was the least disruptive option to our tamariki.

Poroporoaki:

On Wednesday 14 December we have our farewell Poroporoaki for our Year 6 tamariki.  This is a very special event for our Year 6s and their parents.  The Poroporoaki will take place early afternoon and further information will be sent out in due course.  To our Year 6 parents - please note this date in your diary now.

eTAP App:

You will have received an email regarding the new eTAP app.  eTAP is our secure student information system that we use to store data regarding our students.  This also allows us to contact parents and caregivers, track achievement data of cohorts and create assessment reports.  There are different permissions across the staff that enables access to the system.

Tummy Bugs:

There is a vomiting bug doing the rounds in the Junior and Middle syndicates.  Please remember that if your child has been vomiting they are considered contagious until at least 24 hours after their last vomit.

Nits:

We have had some cases of nits in the Junior and Middle syndicates.  Please check your children for these visitors.  We must all work constantly at keeping them away!  To prevent reinfection it would help if families check their children on Friday night and treat over the weekend if required.
