Covid isolation, water safety, stationery 2023, lost property and Year 6 Poroaki & office closure, uniform returns and accounts

Covid Isolation:

Covid-19 numbers are below 5 across our school. Cases do not appear to be transmitted from each other at school.

If your child tests positive for Covid, they need to stay home for 7 days. Day zero is the day they became unwell or tested positive.

If a child's household contact has tested positive for Covid, they do not need to isolate. They should be tested daily for 5 days with a rapid antigen test (RAT) from the day the person with Covid tested positive. As long as the daily tests show a negative result, the child is expected at school.

Water Safety:

Our Middle and Junior syndicate tamariki will be undertaking water safety next week.  Please make sure they remember their togs and towel.  If they are not going to be taking part please inform your child's teacher.  

Stationery 2023:

The stationery lists for 2023 have now been published on myschool.co.nz

You can reuse any stationery you didn't use up this year.  For headphones no ear buds please.  If you require a book bag or whiteboard, these can be purchased from the office.  

Lost Property:

We have a lot of lost property that is unnamed.  Please have a look through the mountain of clothes.  Anything left at the end of the year will be given away to charity.

Poroaki:

Our Year 6 Leavers' Assembly (Poroaki) is on Wednesday 14 December at 1pm.  As seating is at a premium we ask that only families with children graduating in Year 6 attend this event.  This assembly is longer than our usual assemblies and will finish anywhere between 2.10pm and 2.30pm; therefore we feel it is not suitable for preschoolers.  Students from Year 1 to 5 leaving will be presented with their leavers certificate at our assembly on Friday 9 December.

For All Students:  We ask that if your child has any appointments on Wednesday 14 December and need to be picked up between 1pm and 2.30pm that they are picked up prior to 1pm as we cannot interrupt the Poroaki once it has started.  

The office will be closed for a brief time after the Poroaki has started for the award presentations.  

Uniform Returns:

If you have a Cashmere Avenue School sports uniform or Kapa Haka outfit please return them as soon as possible.  If your child plays miniball please return them after your game on 5 or 6 December.  They will need to wear their own clothes for the final game.  Any uniforms not returned by the end of the year will incur a charge.

Accounts:
