Admin Cashmere —

Quiz Night: Can you tell me where a boutonniere is worn? This is just one of the new bites of knowledge I can now take away with me after the Home and School Quiz Night last Friday. After so much time waiting for our community to connect after Covid restrictions being in place, it was very heartwarming to see us all have fun together. A special thank you to all of our parents who gave up their personal time to make the night happen, in particular, our Quiz Queen Jodie and our NEW Quiz Queen, Guanny.

Kaitiakitanga: Have you been involved in conversations with your children about caring for ourselves, our environment and each other? After school wide learning on what it takes to show kaitiakitanga, I have been approached by several student groups, juniors to seniors, with ways they are wanting to make a difference as kaitiaki (protectors, guardians, carers). Through this focus, there are wonderful examples of our Learning Capabilities in action. For example, some students are collecting blankets for dogs in need, some are developing personal learning plans and some are creating structures for our school birdlife. What awesome active citizenship!

Wishing you all a good day of reflection and time to be with whānau next Monday, Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Day.

Ngā mihi nui
