Year 6 Rau Aroha & Sue Comans Award

Admin Cashmere —

Our Poroaki today was a lovely affair to farewell our Year 6 children. Thank you to all our senior teachers Phil Rodley, AnneMaree Breen, Blair Elliott and Sarah Littler for all the work they did in preparing for the event. Ka pai to our Year 6 speakers Zach, Ashleigh, Lilliana, Taran, Neel and Maya.

Rau Aroha Award

The Potiki-Clune family gifted ‘Rau Aroha’, Leaf of Love, to Cashmere Avenue School and each year it is presented to a Year 6 student who has most demonstrated the virtues of self-less service, humility and dedication to the Kapa Haka group during their time at Cashmere Avenue. This year the award went to Ashleigh and Julian both of whom have been very supportive to other children in the Kapa Haka.

Sue Comans’ Service Award

This award is to remember one of our lovely office ladies, Sue Comans. Each day she would go beyond the call of duty in ensuring that everyone’s requirements no matter how big or small were catered for and done with a smile. Her pleasant demeanour, loyalty and humour will be remembered by all of those whose lives she touched. She worked tirelessly to make life easier for those around her. If there were two words that best described Sue it would be ‘service’ and ‘smile’. This award is presented each year to the pupil who best demonstrates the key values that came freely and naturally to Sue. This year the award has gone to Amelia.
