Cashmere High School —

New Learning Space

2021 has been a fantastic year for the faculty of Mathematics and Statistics. We have moved into our new classroom block and students and staff could not be happier with the purpose-built, calm, flexible new space.

Kia Kaha te Reo Māori

As a faculty, this year we have been continuing our journey to improve our knowledge of Te Reo and Te Ao Māori. We have integrated whakataukī to guide curriculum units, worked together to improve our vocabulary in weekly faculty meetings and are exploring ways to add more culturally responsive pedagogy and content into teaching programmes. We were honoured to receive the Teimana Bennett trophy for our efforts during Te Wiki o te Reo Māori.

Pilot for new NCEA Standards

Our faculty is involved in the pilot for the numeracy common assessment activity which will be sat by year 10s on Thursday 28th October. This is a fantastic chance for our year 10 students to potentially gain their numeracy before starting level 1 next year.

Examinations

All the best to our senior students as you prepare for your upcoming NCEA examinations as well as to our juniors who will have their school examinations in week 5. We encourage you to start studying now! We would love to see you at tutorials if you want some extra help or encouragement.
