Principal’s Message
Tēnā koutou, e te whānau o Cashmere High School – Te Iringa o Kahukura.
It’s been a strong few weeks for our school, with excellent results and milestones across several areas. Our Year 10 students have achieved outstanding outcomes in the NCEA Literacy and Numeracy assessments, performing well above both national and comparable-school averages. Numeracy reached 82.9 percent (national 51), Reading 87.5 percent (national 57.5), and Writing 86.7 percent (national 55.6). These results reflect both expert teaching and consistent student effort. Well done to all involved.
Our recent Year 11 and 12 Prizegivings were a great success, with an excellent turnout from parents and whānau. Congratulations to all award recipients, and particularly to our Dux winners; Julia Walters (Year 11) and Alexander Williams (Year 12). Our senior students are now in full exam mode as NCEA begins on Tuesday 4 December.
We’ve also confirmed our student leadership team for 2026, including Head Students (Max Eadie-Lilley, Charlotte Clatworthy, Utkarsh Singh and Zoe Clarke), Prefects, and House Captains. We look forward to seeing them step confidently into their roles next year, leading with service, integrity, and purpose.
Tonight we gather at the Christchurch Town Hall for our Year 13 Graduation. This is always an incredible occasion and a wonderful way to celebrate our young people as they conclude their high school journey.
Ngā mihi,
John Stradwick
Principal

NCEA/NZQA External Examinations Update
By now, students should have received their Examination Admission Slips and exam information from their form teachers. Students need to check this carefully to ensure that all their examinations appear on this slip. If there are any missing, students will need to see the Principals nominee (Miss Martin - MIL) as soon as possible so that late entries can be made and a new slip printed. Under no circumstances, should this slip be written on.
This slip is needed to enter every examination, so students need to keep this safe and bring it with them for every examination.
In week 4, all students and whanau will be emailed further Cashmere specific information about exams, so please look out for this.
