Golfing Success

Deanna Matthews has been playing golf, and enjoying plenty of success, for many years. Since entering Cashmere High School, at the beginning of 2020, Deanna has continued to play alongside and compete against many of the top female players from throughout the Canterbury region. Due to her performance across multiple events Deanna was awarded the 2020 Canterbury Under 16 Girls Order of Merit, effectively placing her at the top of her age group for the season.

Deanna has carried this form into 2021, achieving a further two major wins in recent weeks. Firstly, she was part of the Women’s team from the Pegasus Golf Club that recently won the Premier Women’s Team competition in Canterbury, the Pollock Cup. Secondly, on 26th January, Deanna won the Canterbury Under 16 Girls Championship at the Waimairi Beach golf course.

We congratulate Deanna on these outstanding achievements and look forward to seeing her represent Cashmere High School in the upcoming Canterbury Secondary School Championships in March.
