Fundraising purpose decision and more news on entertainment books!

The PTA and Board of Trustees have been collaborating over the last 6 months on ideas for the main fundraising goal for 2017. After several brainstorming sessions, group discussions and a survey we have jointly decided that funds raised from our main fundraising event, the Cashmere Primary Twilight Fair, will be put toward creating new outdoor learning spaces and enhancing the existing ones.

Currently there is a notable gap in suitable outdoor learning spaces, particularly for our younger learners. We hope to develop plans for a playground and outdoor learning area for our Year 1 and 2 Māunu children near their new learning spaces. We also plan to redevelop the existing junior playground to make it a more suitable facility for the Year 3 and 6 Kōraho and Pīrere children. This is a big project that will require a lot of resources and teamwork to make a success!

Other fundraising streams, such as entertainment books and cards and calendars, will help the PTA continue to support the school through funding extra curricular uniforms, assisting families in need and holding non-fundraising community events including guest speakers.

We invite your feedback and input, and look forward to comments and ideas from our school community. Planning and building outdoor learning spaces for the students is an exciting project that the PTA is looking forward to progressing with help from the community.
