On the 30th of March some of our Year 7 and 8 girls attended a Pioneer run girls basketball tournament.

It was a 3 on 3 tournament and was based on having fun. The majority of our players had never played basketball before and it was a great chance to try something new. There were many other schools involved in the tournament including Prebbleton, Halswell and many more.

Professional basketball coach and ex player Lori McDaniel and Matt from Pioneer Basketball came to help us at the start and gave us the basics on how to play a 3 on 3 game. It was a really fun afternoon and we learned a lot about basketball. The event was sponsored by Sport Canterbury and the Christchurch City Council, we really appreciated them organising the event. Thank you to our parents for transporting us and Mr Jack for organising it.
