Now that class programmes are up and running we are asking for parents, grandparents and other supporters to volunteer as Reading Mileage Tutors.

If you enjoy reading with your child at home you will probably also enjoy helping with Reading Mileage. Research has shown that the more a child reads the easier it becomes-and we need people to listen to and encourage children who find reading challenging. Tutors need to be able to make a commitment of one or two 30 minute sessions a week. Times are flexible. A short training session is provided and support is offered throughout the year. Classroom teachers really appreciate the help they get from tutors – it really does make a difference!

Last year we did not have enough tutors to meet the demand, so please consider becoming a Reading Mileage Tutor and giving something back to the school. Please email me if you may be interested and I will get back to you. Thank you
