Te Pae Kererū

Gavin Burn —

We would like to gather your views and preferences on how we incorporate our Māori school name.

Part of Cashmere Primary School's MOE Redevelopment is the inclusion and adoption of our cultural narrative. A key component of this cultural narrative is the inclusion of a Māori name for our school.

Te Pae Kererū is the Te Reo Māori name that has been approved by Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tūāhuriri and gifted to Cashmere Primary. The name translates as ‘the perch of the kererū’ and is reflective of the abundance of kererū within the wider Cashmere/Port Hills area and that kererū are frequent visitors to the school. The theme around kererū was incorporated into the names of our learning teams and new learning spaces.

We would like to gather your views and preferences on how we incorporate our Māori school name. Please take the time to complete this very brief survey by Friday the 31st of March.

Following the closure of this survey, the data gathered will inform our decision about how our current school name incorporates our new Māori school name.

Ngā mihi nui
