In our Katua, Year 7-8 writing group we have been studying poetry. We read and discussed the features of the narrative poem, The Highwayman, a famous poem by Alfred Knowles.

We studied the language, rhythm and rhyme of the poem and devised a success criteria to write a parody in collaborative groups.
