CONGRATULATIONS HOCKEY….

“I was the organiser of last week's Canterbury hockey competition. 28 teams were involved.

The Cashmere Primary team stood out for me. The students were so positive, friendly and respectful. They were such a joy to be around. I was very happy to see them get third place.

You should be very proud of these students. They were great ambassadors for your school.”

Deputy Principal of Lyttelton Primary

YOU ROCKED!!!!!

Year 7-8 Football

On August the 24th the Year 7 and 8 football team competed in the Centrals Zones Football tournament which was held at South Hagley Park. There were teams from all over Canterbury who had come first in their original zones. We had a really tough comp, and we ended up 23rd in Canterbury. We would like to thank Mr Grenfell for taking and coaching the team. The team consisted of Gabe, Aidan, Toby, Rocco, Emma, Brennan, Robert.

Year 5 & 6 Netball Tournament

On Thursday the 24th of August we headed down to the Hagley netball courts to compete in the Centrals winter tournament because we came second overall in South West Zones.

The team was made up of Holly Maraki, Mya Bennett, Amelia O'connell-Gerard, Belize McQuarrie, Libby Beasley, Lily Brooks, Milla Eathorne-Godfrey, Stasia Tapsell, Ava Barker and Georgia Rayner (not playing). We were all very excited to be playing but still quite nervous. We played a number games and played to the best of our ability. Overall we came fifth.

We would like to thank our coaches Janine Maraki and Paula Eden for all the coaching, help and encouragement throughout the season. And thanks to all the parents who have supported us along the way.

Year 7 and 8 Netball Tournament

The Year 7 and 8 netball team headed to court 15 full of energy and ready to have games full of fun. The Centrals winter tournament team consisted of Annabel Pawson, Chloe James- Schooner, Olivia Herman, Molly Hattaway, Olivia Eathorn Godfrey, Jessica Kelly, Sophia Gillespie and Emily Davis.

Our defence team did a wonderful job and the shooting was great. Everyone worked their very best and pushed to their limits. My coach always said, It doesn't matter about the results, it’s just about having fun.” And we did. We had played six games, we lost five and won one.

Thank you to Leitesha, Joanna and Jac for their encouragement and help on the day.
