At present the minimum wait in CEC/ED is four-six hours for minor problems. The best thing Whanau can do is to go to their GP and then if the tamariki need to be admitted it is much quicker for the GP to refer into the hospital rather than go straight to CEC/ED and wait for hours to be seen
