The Associate Minister of Education Visits our School.

Gavin Burn —

Associate Minister of Education, The Hon Nikki Kaye visited our new and newly refurbished spaces last week as part of her recent trip to visit 4 Christchurch schools.

Whilst the weather was some of the worst we have seen this year this didn't dampen our spirits or enthusiasm to host the Minister and other visitors last Thursday.

The Minsiter, her team,  our local director of Education in Canterbury, (Coralanne Child),  MOE property advisors and those involved in the redevelopment ( TBIG, HRS etc) all visited our learning spaces.

The group were welcomed by our senior kapa haka group and principal. The Minister spoke briefly and then planted a Kāramu (native Coprosma) for our school at the pool end of the new Kāramu building.

Our visitors where then led on a tour around our new building and newly refurbished spaces by our student executive.  The visit was short, just under an hour but in this time our visitors got to see how welcoming and caring our students are, they were able to see our amazing teaching and learning programmes in action, supported by our flexible learning spaces and they were able to meet and chat with children, staff, bot members and those involved in the project.
