Wellbeing Update

Gavin Burn —

Please take the time to read this update from our Wellbeing Group.

Dear Whānau

At Cashmere Primary, the wellbeing of our children and staff is extremely important. As you will be aware, in Term 2 we established a collaborative group of board members and senior leaders who are working through a process of review into what we do regarding well being.

Throughout the term this group has been working through a robust internal review process. This process has involved:

  • Identifying our focusing question and the purpose of the review “Do we have effective processes in place to identify and provide support to those who need it, to ensure the physical and emotional safety of all students?;

  • Reviewing the processes and data we already have (including data from previous surveys)

  • Analysing the data available and and making sense of that data to assess what other information we need.

The partnership between Whānau and school is key as we have shared responsibility for our children. In Term 3, we will be seeking feedback from parents to help assess what is working, and what changes could be made to improve our processes around how we manage both student and staff wellbeing in our school.
