Music Teaching & Learning at Cashmere Primary Te Pae Kererū
This year we have our very own Kate Divett teaching and leading Music across the school.
We are excited to share with you that this year, our very own and very talented Kate Divett will be teaching Music to the Kātua team as part of their Tuesday Interchange programme. We have a strong staff who have specific skills and strengths, and this is one way we can use these strengths to support our learners.
This is a change from previous years where we have had a music teacher from Cashmere High School. We see many benefits in this change as Kate has strong knowledge of our learners and is connected to both them, their whānau and staff. In addition to this Kate has strong ties with the Cashmere High School Music Department and will ensure that our connection with the high school remains.
In addition to the above Kate will also be leading the in-school music lesson programme, teaching and conducting the school orchestra, jazz combo and rock band, as well as supporting choirs in the Kōraho, Pīrere and Kātua Teams. Kate also co-conducts the auditioned Kahukura Chorale singing group with Kate Revell from Chch South Intermediate.
