Enviro Group Update - Worm Farm

Hamish Watson —

Cashmere Primary’s worm farm this year consists of two bathtubs, used from previous years’ worm farms, and it is situated at the end of the middle court.

Currently the worm farm is being looked after twice a week by three Yr 8’s, Alisha Warwick, Emma Melton and Emily Davis, which involves emptying food bins, and collecting the worm juice. However six Yr 7’s are currently being trained to help out for two days a week. Some of the worm juice collected is used on the school’s edible gardens but the rest can be purchased for a gold coin donation. The juice is great food for all your plants and will make your vegetables grow huge!!! Inquire at the office.

Also if anyone has some spare unused carpet it would be great if you could donate it by giving it to the school office or contacting Mrs Cadillac on meg.cadillac@cashmereprimary.school.nz as it is great to cover to bathtubs with.
