Code Club

Code Club

Kerry Hall —

Learning to code teaches children  to think, solve problems and work collaboratively and creatively.

In term two we would like to offer children in Year 5-8 the opportunity to take part in a five week code club. The club will run for one hour (3.00pm-4.00pm) on a Wednesday afternoon and will introduce the children to the basics of Scratch coding.

So that as many children as possible can be introduced to coding there will be two groups next term:
Group one will start on Wednesday 17 May (week 3) and run until Wednesday 14 June (week 7).

Group two  will start on Wednesday 31 May (week 5) and run until Wednesday 28 June (week 9).

It would be an advantage for children to bring their own device to support their learning as there will be a limited number of school owned devices available for children to use, Scratch is a fully online programme so there is no need to download any software.

If you would like to enrol your child, please fill in the google form  (https://goo.gl/forms/3veUziCxjQtpoWYp1).

Spaces are limited to the first 40 children (20 in each group) If there is enough demand we will be able to run code club again in term 3 for children who miss out in term 2.

If you have any questions please email kerry.hall@cashmereprimary.school.nz or pop in and see me for a chat and a demo.

 Ngā mihi
