The children of the Junior School were lucky to have a visit last week from Sally Rutherford who is the goalie for the Black Sticks.
Sally spoke about her training programme, matches she plays, the work she does and the Commonwealth Games. The children were very excited to get to hold her gold medal from the recent Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast. She answered lots of very interesting questions.
After she spoke, the children who take part in the Tuesday skills programme headed outside with Sally and Tara to take part in some fun skills.
The children had lots of fun showing a Black Sticks player their fantastic skills. A huge thanks to Hannah for organising the visit, Tara for leading the activities as well as Nina and Natalya for helping on the day. Who knows, we may have a future Black Stick in our midst!
