Harvest Festival – an Invitation and a Collection
Once again we will be holding one whole school Harvest Festival service of thanksgiving next week, on Friday 16 March at 8.40am, to which all parents and friends are warmly invited. The service will be in the hall. We hope that you will be able to join us.

Harvest Collection: Along with our service, next week is our Harvest Festival Food Collection for the City Mission, and all pupils are asked to bring a couple of staple food items to contribute. This collection is not so much an opportunity to empty the pantry of those unusual chutneys and cans of artichokes that appeared in Christmas hampers but rather to offer a gift of baked beans, spaghetti, canned vegetables, rice, pasta or pasta sauces that can provide a struggling family with a good solid meal. Dried and tinned foods can be brought to school during the week, and stored in your child's classroom. Please deliver fresh fruit and vegetables directly to the hall on Friday 16 March.

Parent / Teacher Conferences - Monday 19 March - Thursday 22 March
We look forward to seeing parents at Parent Conferences with Home Room, English and Maths subject teachers. To book appointments with teaching staff, please use the electronic booking system and complete the information survey. All parents will be emailed later today with details of the system and how to use it. This information is also on GrammarNet’s Home Page. If you are unable to make times during next week, please contact the teacher(s) concerned directly to make an appointment later in the term.

Treblemakers are fantastic! Cathedral Grammar's new A Cappella Club, Treblemakers, has started on a Monday lunchtime with an enthusiastic group of 22 singers! Voices Co. Tutors, Jasmine Salam and Julian Hay, lead the group in growing core skills, including breath support, rhythm, and singing in harmony, as well as cultivating a team player environment and encouraging confidence.

The group are currently learning an a cappella arrangement of Let Me Love You by DJ Snake featuring Justin Bieber. It's encouraging to see them embracing new challenges, such as beat boxing and learning to make the weird and wonderful noises used in contemporary a cappella, including dm dm, doot do, woh woh woh, and tck tsh!

We are excited to see how this group develops in their ability to work together to make amazing vocal music all while having fun!

Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser for the Cathedral Grammar Choristers
Next Tuesday 13 March, there will be a lunchtime sausage sizzle outside the Specialist Block at school. Ordering and pickup will be in the same location. The cost per child is $2.  All children will need to pay their money on arrival at school where they will have their hand stamped, then their sausage, bread and sauce will be ready for them to collect at the beginning of lunchtime.

This is a fundraiser for the Cathedral Grammar Choristers who are
travelling to Australia and Japan later in the year. Pre-School, Junior School and Prep School children, staff and all parents are welcome.

Your support would be very much appreciated. If you have any further queries, please contact Terry Thompson  on 021 108 7204 or email seaview@xtra.co.nz
