Kia ora Cathedral Grammar Whanau

We have much to celebrate in our Chapel life. A few weeks ago we presented surplices to 11 Chapel Choir members: Scarlett, Frances, Aaron, Amelia, Lisari, Nate, Candice, Wallace, Chris, Wilde, and Emily, and commissioned the 2023 Chapel Choir. It was also great to formally commission Scarlett as Head of Chapel Choir. This week we commissioned the Junior Chapel Choir and presented badges to those who are part of this choir. It was lovely to welcome so many whanau members to our Chapel Service, thank you to those who were able to join us. We are fortunate to have two Chapel Choirs and two Cathedral Chorister Choirs to help lead our worship in song and in spoken word. I wish to thank Mr Adams, Mrs Dark, Dr Linker, and Miss Wood who lead our choirs.

As The Cathedral Grammar School, we have strong links with the ChristChurch Cathedral. Last Thursday 7G visited the Transitional Cathedral. They learnt some interesting facts about the Transitional Cathedral and the Cathedral in the Square; looked at the Harper crozier (the Bishop's crook), which was made from a melted-down tea set, and the processional cross; and had a mini tutorial about the organ. Thank you to Mr Oldham and Dr Linker for talking with us. On the walk back to school we stopped in Cathedral Square and checked out the progress on the Cathedral.

We are now over halfway through Lent. How are you going with your Lenten promises of prayer, fasting, and alms giving?

As Chaplain, I enjoy sharing the joys and sorrows of life with others. If you would like to talk about life's triumphs or trials with me or to share a prayer, I can be found in the Chaplain's Office, downstairs in the Specialist Block. I can also be contacted on kundycki-carrellt@cathedralgrammar.school.nz

Kia manaaki te Atua kia koutou katoa - may God bless you all.
