2021 Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl of The Cathedral Grammar School

Mrs Nicky Oram —

Introducing Deputy Head Boy, Marco Howe and Deputy Head Girl, Albertine Neate.

Marco Howe:

What excites you most about your role?
What excites me most about my role is being able lead people in the right directions and helping people when they need it.

Are there any initiatives that you would like to implement this year? If so, tell us about them.

  1. Something I would like to see implemented in the school this year is that the Seniors (Year 7 & 8) spend more time with the Juniors (Year 4, 5 & 6) because I feel like those connections were lost when you become a year 7.

What do you like most about The Cathedral Grammar School?
I love many aspects of Cathedral Grammar, but what I like most is how the teachers give you work to fit your needs, this helps accelerate the learning process and helps every child grow.

Who do you admire and why?
The people who I admire most is everyone in my class, this is because over the years I have seen strong points in every member, which makes them admirable.

What is your favourite song?
My favourite song is "Something Just Like This" by Coldplay.

What do you like to do in your spare time? I like to hangout with my friends.

If you were stranded on an Island and could have only one Cathedral Grammar staff member with you, who would it be and why?
Mr Brooke, he has amazing knowledge of science and that is very useful in many ways, such as lighting a fire or knowing how to cook with it.

Albertine Neate:

What excites you most about your role?
The thing that excites me most about being Deputy Head is bringing new and exciting ideas into TCGS and working in a team with the other Heads of School.

Are there any initiatives that you would like to implement this year? If so, tell us about them.
One initiative I would like to implement this year is partially plastic-free lunchboxes. I think this would be a great way for TCGS to become more environmentally friendly as well as having a cleaner school with less plastic litter.

What do you like most about The Cathedral Grammar School?
What I like most about TCGS is the teachers, who are kind and supporting, and the small class sizes which help us create closer friendships and have more time with our teachers.

Who do you admire and why?
I admire Greta Thunberg because of her determination to fight for what she believes in no matter what. She is an amazing role model for everyone.

What is your favourite song?
I don't have a favourite but I like Dua Lipa

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Reading books like The Hunger Games and Gone or watching Stranger Things on Netflix.

If you were stranded on an Island and could have only one Cathedral Grammar staff member with you, who would it be and why?

It would be Mr Brooke because not only is he funny, but he would be able to make the bread we cooked for science in lockdown. It was delicious!
