On Wednesday 15th August,  our Boys' Hockey XI traveled to Ashburton to play against Waihi. The teams were very evenly matched which made for an exciting game!!

Finn scored our first goal early in the first half, which was quickly met by a return from Waihi. Waihi scored again early in the second half,  but as the game went on our boys just got better and better as they became used to playing together. We linked some excellent passes and played down the right, with Finn putting away a second goal with 10 minutes to go. We kept fighting right until the end, and Yong sealed the game for us by sending an excellent ball towards the goal, which deflected off a Waihi boy's stick and secured us the win. 

Well done, boys! Excellent sportsmanship, team spirit and commitment from all made for an excellent game and a well deserved win.
