Pre-School

Ms Libby Avery —

Term IV has started with a hiss and a roar and doesn't show any sign of slowing down.

Last week, the Pre-Schoolers participated in the whole school Athletics'  Sports.  They were simply fantastic and were so well behaved having to wait an extra 40 minutes to be able to get their races under way.

The children spent the last few weeks preparing for the potato and spoon and the running races.   Techniques had been perfected and when the starter clacker went, they were off.  Jack Parfitt couldn't wipe the smile off his face as he raced across the finish line in one event.  Paige Harding simply flew down the track.  Cooper Crofskey had mastered the technique of holding one hand behind his back for the spoon race.

Thank you to all the parents who cheered on not only their children but also the entire Pre-School.  Miss Manson commented that she felt it was the first time that every child took place without tears or an adult having to sweep in to help.  Ka Pai tamariki: the teachers are as proud of you, as your parents.

On Friday morning, a very exciting orange chilly bin was wheeled in by Sam Crofskey.  Sam is the owner of C1 Expresso and he bought in some dry ice and washing-up liquid.  Words are not required to show you what happened as the photos below will explain it all.  C1 Expresso are planning Smokey Pumpkin Lattes for Halloween so I think I may have to stop by for a taste.

Last week, on Storypark, a link was sent out to complete online and return, regarding the last week of the year, 18 - 22 December.  We require one return to be completed by every child, even if they are not attending the week.  Many thanks for those who have already completed the form.

This term is extremely busy so please keep up to date with Grammar Notes and Storypark.   We still have a Bunnings trip, swimming lessons, the Nativity rehearsals and play, our Graduation and Carol Service and the Leavers' Service.  I am sure I have missed something, but please note all dates in your diary or reminders on your phone, particularly the two days Pre-School closes early (14 and 15 December).

Sunhats, sunblock and plenty of changes of clothes are required this term as we simply know the sun is going to keep  shining.

Have a wonderful Weeks III & IV.
