Term Two in Full Swing!

We do hope you enjoyed the Queen’s Birthday weekend. Well done to those of you that braved the elements and participated in the Christchurch Marathon. A medal well and truly deserved!

We are now into the second half of T2. Class topics, themes and projects are in full swing and there is plenty going on in the classrooms. The photos below will give you a snapshot of the learning that is taking place.

A reminder that now we are officially in winter and all students must have their PE gear and tracksuit at school each day. This includes a pair of sports socks for PE lessons. Most students are off-site for sport on Friday. Please ask your children to check that that they have all the appropriate gear ready for Friday. Named of course!

Next week Y4&5 start their swimming lessons at Jellie Park as part of the Physical Education programme. Please check the letter sent to Y4&5 parents from Miss Dowgray for the organisation. Students with hair below the collar line will need a swimming hat.

We are starting to get some good results in our Friday sport competitions.  A special mention to Ella (8G), who after trials has been selected for the Independent Zone Squad for netball. Her next aim is to be accepted into the 2018 Canterbury Metro Primary Schools Representative team. We wish her well.

In looking at the photos below, your task is to guess which characters the girls from Y6 are modelling. Clue - the books they have been studying are the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and My Side of the Mountain.
